Our September charity (and winner of free room hire) is... City Hearts!

Back in August we announced a new opportunity for charities, in which once a month we choose a charity or non-profit to be awarded free use of our Event Space to help support their fundraising activities.

The winning charity for September is City Hearts and what a deserving charity they are for our first award! They’re on a mission to create life-changing projects for exploited and vulnerable people all over the world. Did you know that on any given day 40.3 million people are victims of Modern Slavery, and well over 13,000 of which are in the UK? We now do.

City Hearts are helping to support individuals with life controlling issues who have suffered from exploitation in society. Here’s some facts to show you how admirable their work really is:

  • 750 women, men and children in City Hearts safe accommodation

  • 1,950 survivors of Modern Slavery are in their outreach programmes

  • 100 children have been mentored in their African Child Partnership Programme

  • 42 survivors supported into work placements in their Bright Future Employment Programme

  • 80 women with life controlling issues have been cared for in their Restore Residential Programme

  • 260 survivors assisted with their longer term needs integrating into local communities after exiting save house and outreach programmes through their integration support

We think you’ll agree that City Hearts are an important and well-deserving charity for our support. We’re especially honoured that the home of their head office is Sheffield. Sheffield really IS super.

City Hearts believe it is important that the individuals they work with celebrate their journey and achievements and this is exactly what they’ll be doing when we open our doors to them on Wednesday.
