Some FAQs

When is it happening?

The programme will run for 4 weeks from Monday2nd August to Friday 27th August

How does it work?

Each MONDAY I’ll ‘unlock’ the info for that week. There will be some resources to read or watch, and then some ‘homework’ to have a go at. The resources will be published as a page on this website (see links below) and also in the Facebook Group for the course. (Once accepted onto the course, we’ll send you your invite to join the facebook group before the course starts).

Do I need to join the facebook group?

All the module resources will be available on the website, so you can access them here without dipping your toe into the world of facebook groups.

BUT I would really recommend that you do join the facebook group because this is where the chat happens. Mastering social media - or even, just starting off with it - is more of an art than a science. At its best it’s like a conversation between you and your audience. Because of this, it always has elements that are unique to you and your audience - no one else can have the conversations that happen between you after all!

When you are starting out it can be very hard to figure out what your content should be about - what resonates with ‘your’ particular audience; and then, what resonates and also encourages them to respond in the way your business needs them to. Although there ARE some helpful ‘rules’ its useful to follow (eg like ‘post consistently’) which can give you a framework to start with, the best results come as you find your voice and get to know your audience … and, as I say, this is more of an art than a science so it can take a bit of practice to get it working.

Being in a facebook group gives you the chance to use a safe and private group of friendly folk to try your content on and learn how it comes across to others. Watching others do this can also give you inspiration as you see what you like, and what you don’t. So I would recommend that you do decide to participate in the facebook group.

Weekly Q&A in the facebook group

People in the facebook group are also invited to post their questions on that week’s homework and we’ll answer them on Thursdays. These Q&A sessions are really useful for helping to develop the course as they show which bits people are getting stuck with. So please post your queries each week.

Weekly emails

Throughout the programme we’ll also share resources by email for your convenience. So, if like me, you are old school and like your info in an email, we’ve got you covered too!

Contact us: the best way to contact us during the course is by posting a question in the facebook group - but you can also use email info@harlandworks.co.uk.
